Where the numbers come from

Our server checks the feeds every 30 minutes. For each port, wind, waves and water/air temperature come from the closest working station in a set order: nearshore buoys first, then NOAA NOS gauges and lighthouse/C-MAN stations. Anything older than 3 hours is marked stale. Anything older than 24 hours isn't shown. Lake level comes from NOAA CO-OPS gauges, in feet above Low Water Datum. Forecast text is the NWS Cleveland nearshore marine forecast. Most nearshore buoys are pulled for the winter, so expect more backup-station readings from late fall through spring.
